Changing Lives One Mile, Job and House at a Time

Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a national for-purpose 501(c)3 organization that uses running to help those experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves so they can make real change in their lives that results in employment and independent living. The organization creates a community built on the very profound and innate desire for all of us to feel recognized, appreciated and supported. Back on My Feet does not provide food nor shelter, but instead provides coaching, resources, financial aid, job training and access to employment opportunities.

Through dedication and hard work, Members earn the opportunity to create a new road for themselves by advancing to the “Next Steps” phase of the program where they gain access to educational, job training and employment opportunities, as well as financial aid. In short, Back on My Feet focuses on changing the direction of people’s lives by changing the way they see themselves. Results are measured by tracking employment and housing accomplishments, in addition to attitudinal shifts and running achievements. Back on My Feet is extremely collaborative with homeless service agencies as well as running and corporate communities. Back on My Feet is grateful for support from so many individuals, races, foundations and corporations including Accenture, ACE Cash Express, AT&T, Bimbo Bakeries USA, White Lodging and Marriott International – all of which contribute to the diverse funding that supports our organization’s privately funded 2013 $6.5M operating budget.

Back on My Feet has received incredible media support, including attention from NBC Nightly News , ABC World News, CNN, and The Today Show for its ingenuity in tackling this difficult social issue.
